Nordstrom Fall 2026: 18 Pieces Worth Buying — And 10 I’d Skip

September 24, 2026 By: Nada Manleycomment

One of the hardest things about shopping right now is that price and quality are no longer reliably connected.

A $500 jacket might be beautifully made — or it might be polyester.

A $300 skirt might be genuine leather — while another skirt at the same price is faux.

So instead of simply rounding up everything new at Nordstrom for fall, I wanted to do something more useful.

I went looking for the best in category.

My criteria were simple:

• Strong customer reviews
• Quality materials
• Modern but wearable design
• Enough versatility to earn a place in your wardrobe
• Quality that makes sense for the price

These aren’t necessarily the least expensive pieces. They’re the pieces where I felt the price and product actually matched.

How to Shop This Video:

THE 18 THAT MADE THE CUT

1. Nadri Leah Statement Hoop Earrings — About $100

Shop These Earrings: https://stylists.shop/XeL

I wanted a statement earring that was visible enough to add polish but not so dramatic that it became a novelty piece.

These give you sparkle, size and presence without taking over your outfit.

Why they made the cut: They can work with everything from a sweater during the day to evening clothes.

2. Brixton Wesley and Messer Wool Fedoras — About $75

Shop These Hats: https://stylists.shop/XeM and https://stylists.shop/XeN

Wesley
Messer

For a real wool felt hat, this is excellent value.

Hats are having a fashion moment again, but a classic fedora doesn’t become obsolete when that moment passes.

Why they made the cut: 100% wool felt, timeless shape and a price far below many comparable fashion hats.

3. Mackage Wool Long Wrap Coat — About $1,190

Shop This Coat: https://stylists.shop/XeP

Definitely a splurge.

But this is an example of spending more and actually getting more: beautiful double-faced Italian wool, fluid construction and a dramatic collar without excessive trendy detailing.

Why it made the cut: If you’re paying four figures for a coat, the fabrication should look and feel like it.

4. High-Waist Stretch-Terry Pants — About $178

Shop These Pants: https://stylists.shop/XeQ

These fill that useful space between denim, casual pants and loungewear.

You get a more polished silhouette than a jogger while retaining the comfort of stretch terry.

Why they made the cut: Comfortable enough for travel but polished enough to leave the house in.

5. KUT From the Kloth Natalie Bootcut Corduroys — About $89

Shop These Here: https://stylists.shop/XeR

One of my favorite values in the entire edit.

They’re primarily cotton with just enough stretch, come in rich fall colors, and give you a true bootcut rather than a cropped kick flare.

Why they made the cut: Great silhouette + strong fall colors + excellent price.

6. Unpublished Sloane Cigarette Jeans — About $118

Shop These Here: https://stylists.shop/XeS

Dark cigarette and stovepipe jeans are one of my favorite denim updates for Fall 2026.

This pair gives you a clean, long line without the cropped proportions we’ve seen everywhere for years.

Why they made the cut: Premium-looking dark denim at a moderate premium-denim price.

7. Tecovas Abby Western Boots — About $395

Shop These Here: https://stylists.shop/XeT

Yes, they’re an investment.

But you’re getting leather on the upper, lining and sole — not simply a leather upper attached to predominantly synthetic construction.

Why they made the cut: These are the kind of boots that can actually improve with age.

8. Rag & Bone Leather Belt — About $198

Shop This Here: https://stylists.shop/XeU

An investment belt should be simple.

No giant logo. No gimmicky buckle. No detail that’s going to immediately date it.

Why it made the cut: Beautiful calfskin, understated hardware and the kind of classic design you’ll wear repeatedly.

9. BOSS Virgin-Wool One-Button Blazer — About $599

Shop This Here: https://stylists.shop/XeW

This is where the comparison gets interesting.

Yes, $599 is a lot for a blazer. But this one is 100% virgin wool, beautifully tailored and modern without being dramatically oversized.

Why it made the cut: You’re actually paying for fabrication and tailoring — not merely a logo.

10. STAUD Wells Cotton Poplin Midi Dress — About $285

Shop This Here: https://stylists.shop/XeY or here https://stylists.shop/Xf0

A sleeveless dress for fall? Absolutely.

Layer it over a fine turtleneck or mesh top, add a jacket or wear it alone during transitional weather.

Why it made the cut: A flattering fit-and-flare silhouette, architectural seaming and almost all cotton.

11. Nordstrom Leather Pencil Skirt — About $269

Shop This Here: https://stylists.shop/Xf1

Long, slim column and pencil skirts are important for Fall 2026, and leather is especially strong.

I found faux-leather skirts selling for more than this genuine-leather version.

Why it made the cut: Real leather under $300 in one of the key skirt silhouettes of the season.

12. Nordstrom Cashmere-Lined Leather Gloves — About $99

Shop These Here: https://stylists.shop/Xf2

Genuine leather outside. 100% cashmere lining. Touchscreen capability.

I particularly like the evergreen shade as an easy way to introduce color into a fall wardrobe.

Why they made the cut: Practical, polished and beautifully made for the price.

13. Nordstrom Rib Cashmere Travel Wrap — About $168

Shop This Here: https://stylists.shop/Xf4

The pashmina-style cashmere wrap is back — although many women never stopped wearing it.

It can be a wrap, a plane blanket or an extra travel layer.

Why it made the cut: 100% cashmere for considerably less than many similar designer versions.

14. Nordstrom 100% Cashmere Sweaters — About $169–$199

Shop These Here https://stylists.shop/Xf5 and Here https://stylists.shop/Xf6

Crewnecks, V-necks, cardigans and one of my favorites: the polo-neck sweater.

No, they’re not revolutionary. That’s not the point.

Why they made the cut: Straightforward, useful 100% cashmere at a reasonable luxury price.

15. Levi’s Reversible Crop Trench Jacket — About $150

Shop This Here: https://stylists.shop/Xf8

One side gives you an updated alternative to the standard denim jacket; flip it and you get plaid.

Why it made the cut: Two useful fall jackets in one, with a current shape that still feels wearable.

16. Sam Edelman Loraine Bit Loafers — About $150

Shop These Here: https://stylists.shop/Xf9

A perennial favorite for a reason.

Soft leather, cushioned insole, classic hardware and a shape that works with an enormous range of bottoms.

For 2026, I’d update them with patent leather, croc texture or animal print.

17. The Sak Sequoia Leather Hobo — About $169

Shop This Here in Black https://stylists.shop/Xfb and Brown Floral https://stylists.shop/Xfd

The hobo is one of the important bag shapes of the season, but it has never truly gone away.

The real-leather version gives you an everyday-sized bag with a zip top, useful compartments and lots of color choices.

Why it made the cut: A real leather everyday bag at a very reasonable price.

18. LILYSILK Tailored Silk Blouse

Shop This Here: https://stylists.shop/Xfe or try this Quince one here https://stylists.shop/Xff

This one actually earned its spot while I was discussing an expensive silk blouse that did not make my list.

A polished silk charmeuse blouse is a modern classic — but I don’t think you need to spend nearly $400 to get one.

Why it made the cut: Beautiful silk, polished details and much stronger value than some of the designer alternatives.

10 I WOULD SKIP

These aren’t necessarily ugly pieces.

Several are from brands I love.

The issue is value.

You can find these items here: https://hueandstripe.com/catalog/306H-SQ4tFKd6h?s=1916996

Favorite Daughter Varsity Blazer

Nearly $400 with a fabrication that’s predominantly polyester.

I like the collegiate styling, but I want better materials at that price.

Open Edit Knee-High Boot

The price is appealing and the silhouette is good, but both the upper and lining are synthetic and the reviews fall below my four-star benchmark.

Free People Night Ranch Faux-Suede Jacket

Very cool styling.

But at almost $200 for polyester faux suede — combined with weaker reviews — I don’t think the quality matches the price.

Vince Cashmere Scarf

This isn’t a bad scarf at all.

It’s 100% cashmere and beautifully sized.

The problem? I found an extremely similar Nordstrom cashmere option for significantly less.

Designer Silk Charmeuse Blouse

Beautiful? Yes.

Worth roughly $345–$385 for a classic silk button-down when brands like LILYSILK offer beautiful alternatives for much less?

For me, no.

Cinq à Sept Faux-Leather Skirt

The skirt itself is attractive and well reviewed.

But it’s over $300 and faux leather when Nordstrom’s own genuine-leather skirt costs less.

That’s the comparison that takes it off my list.

Vince Camuto Faux-Leather Skirt

I like the silhouette, color options, petite sizing and approachable price.

What loses me is the obvious faux-leather appearance combined with a weaker rating.

Rag & Bone Faux-Suede Bomber

I love the bomber silhouette. I love suede for fall. I love Rag & Bone.

But nearly $500 for faux suede puts this in a price category where I’d rather invest in the real thing.

Theory Pull-On Pants

Theory can make wonderful trousers.

These, however, have weaker reviews with concerns about fit, comfort and the waistband.

At close to $300, that’s enough to keep them off my list.

Canada Goose 750-Fill-Power Puffer

At more than $1,000, expectations are understandably high.

The low customer rating and complaints about fit and quality make this too expensive a gamble for me.

THE BIG FALL SHOPPING LESSON

Expensive does not automatically mean high quality.

That’s one of the biggest shifts I’ve seen in shopping.

Before buying, look beyond the brand name and the product photo.

Check:

• Fiber content
• Construction
• Reviews
• Cost compared with similar items
• Whether you’re paying for actual quality or simply styling and branding

Sometimes spending more is absolutely worth it.

Sometimes the best buy is the less expensive one.

And sometimes the smartest thing you can buy is nothing at all.
