Today is part 2 of my shoe series, and I’m diving deep into the fit and foot issues we face over 50. If you’ve been here a while, you know I have a love affair with shoes. But as we get older, things get a little more… complicated. Our feet change, our needs evolve, and suddenly, that pair of killer heels doesn’t feel quite so killer—in a good way.
So today I’m sharing shoes for every size, every fit issue, and the most common foot problems I hear about from you—my community. I’m covering dress shoes, sandals, and sneakers for each category, and I’ve packed this post with brands, links, and styles that truly deliver comfort and style.
Many of these styles are crowdsourced. In other words, they come from you and from my clients. I have marked those with the word “Crowdsourced” below. :) You’ll find many others in the catalog as well.

Let’s start here: If you have really hard-to-fit feet—think size 2 double wide or 974 fit issues—you might consider custom shoes. Surprisingly, brands like Girotti and Sumisurra make gorgeous, affordable custom shoes that could be your holy grail.
