30 Things You Need for Spring

March 24, 2025 By: Nada Manley2 Comments

What do we do when it’s drizzly and gloomy outside? We shop. And honestly, there’s nothing like a little fantasy spring shopping to lift your mood when the weather’s got you down. So today, I’m sharing my Spring 2025 Shopping List — your ultimate guide to refresh, update, and inspire your wardrobe.

Before we jump in, if you haven’t downloaded my Modern Classic Spring Wardrobe Guide, you’re missing the foundation. It’s free, it’s fabulous, and frankly — it might be the difference between getting dressed this spring or staying home in your bathrobe. Grab it at https://nadamanley.com/modernclassics.

And if you want some real wardrobe help, my Closet Confidence Workshop Series is happening right now. It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s a game-changer. We’re building spring wardrobes together — for your lifestyle, your body, your budget. Don’t miss it.

And now for the 30-ish things you NEED for spring! You can shop all of my picks here.

Wardrobe Heroes I’m Loving Right Now:

1. Relaxed Tailored Vests
These are the MVPs of spring. Wear them alone like a tank or layered over mesh tops, bodysuits, even dresses. Polished but easy. Everyone from Target to Veronica Beard has one. You can shop all of my picks here.

2. Trouser Jeans
Wide-leg with just enough structure. They’re denim’s grown-up cousin and pair with basically everything — especially those tailored vests. You can shop all of my picks here.

3. Cropped Bouclé Jackets
I’m wearing one as I write this. They’re structured, elevated, and as comfy as a cardigan. Look for knits with a little stretch. Fringe trim = bonus points. You can shop all of my picks here.

4. Linen or Cotton Maxi Skirts
Breezy, flattering, and perfect for everything from beach coverups to brunch. Boden, Anthropologie, and Tuckernuck are killing it here. You can shop all of my picks here.

5. Sheer or Mesh Layering Tops
These are new again! Add texture and visual interest under vests or sleeveless dresses. Bonus: Some have cool patterns that aren’t even see-through. You can shop all of my picks here.

6. Nautical Striped Sweaters
I have too many. And yet, not enough. Classic, French, Americana — they’re everything. Sezane, J.Crew, and Boden are go-tos. You can shop all of my picks here.

7. Cargo Pants
Yes, I said it. But hear me out: these aren’t your 2001 parachute pants. Think subtle and chic — Boden and Veronica Beard do it best. You can shop all of my picks here.

8. Belted Jackets
Utility style, but make it feminine. Self-belts define the waist and elevate even the most casual outfit. You can shop all of my picks here.

9. White Shirts with a Twist
Forget the basic button-down. Look for architectural cuts, asymmetry, or unexpected textures. Brands like Brochu Walker and “The Shirt” are leading the way. You can shop all of my picks here.

10. Utility Jumpsuits
I didn’t think I was a boilersuit person… until I saw the right one. Reiss makes a glam version, but you’ll find more casual options everywhere. You can shop all of my picks here.

Spring Shoes I’m Obsessed With:

11. Pointed Toe Flats
Comfortable, stretchy knit styles are surprisingly wearable as well as leather and mesh versions. Vivaia and Zara are standouts. You can shop all of my picks here.

12. Fisherman Sandals
The woven vibe just works. Look for pairs from Madewell or the gorgeous (but unpronounceable) brand Hereu. You can shop all of my picks here.

13. Sleek Metallic Loafers
Modern, effortless, and a must-have. 10/10 recommend in silver or gold. You can shop all of my picks here.

14. Minimalist Slingbacks
Sculptural, sleek, and surprisingly comfy. Zara and Reformation are nailing this trend. You can shop all of my picks here.

15. Chunky Wooden Heeled Sandals
Retro and cool. Think 70s clogs reimagined. Swedish Hasbeens and Nisolo make beautiful versions. You can shop all of my picks here.

Accessories That Pull It All Together:

16. Sculptural Gold or Silver Earrings
Big, bold shapes that elevate everything. J.Crew and Alexis Bittar are favorites. You can shop all of my picks here.

17. Raffia or Woven Tote Bag
It’s the law — you need one for spring. Affordable or luxe, it doesn’t matter. Just get one. You can shop all of my picks here.

18. Oversized Gradient Sunglasses
So glam. So retro. So necessary. Gucci started it, but Madewell has amazing affordable versions. You can shop all of my picks here.

19. Chunky Chain Necklaces
Modern statement pieces that never go out of style. Dean Davidson and Boden have killer options. You can shop all of my picks here.

20. Retro Sneakers
Nostalgic and comfy. Think 80s Nike vibes. Rag & Bone, Gola, and Dolce Vita are go-tos. You can shop all of my picks here.

Try-On Trends (Yes, Even the Scary Ones):

21. Barrel Jeans
Don’t panic. There are toned-down versions that are actually flattering. Fit is key. You can shop all of my picks here.

22. Sheer Organza Tops
Lightweight, romantic, and party-ready. These are the spring special occasion top. You can shop all of my picks here.

23. Long Shorts
Not quite Capri (because yikes), but great for modesty and coverage — especially if you’re tall. You can shop all of my picks here.

24. Asymmetrical Skirts
Not high-low, but jagged, modern, deconstructed hems. So cool. You can shop all of my picks here.

25. Statement Denim Jackets
Not your average blue jean jacket. Look for embellishments, cuts, and structure. You can shop all of my picks here.

26. Lace-Up Sandals
Feminine, dainty, and perfect with flowy dresses. I wear mine constantly. You can shop all of my picks here.

27. Oversized Sunglasses
Because glare is real, and so are wrinkles. Practical and fabulous. You can shop all of my picks here.

28. Bucket Hats
Still on the fence, but I’m trying them! Cute alternatives to floppy beach hats. You can shop all of my picks here.

29. Heeled Mules
Sexy, sleek, and very 90s. I’ve loved them since I met my husband. You can shop all of my picks here.

30. Crochet Tote Bag
You might already own one. If not, Target and Etsy are your friends. You can shop all of my picks here.

31. Puff Sleeve Blouses
It’s spring. This is not optional. Get one with just a little volume if you’re shy. You can shop all of my picks here.

32. Espadrilles
If you don’t already have a pair… are we even friends? Glam, feminine, and a must. You can shop all of my picks here.

33. Belted Shirt Dress
Classic, chic, and endlessly versatile. Wear it your way — it’s a total blank canvas. You can shop all of my picks here.

34. Crochet or Knit Tops
Spring vacation vibes in top form. Feminine, textured, and effortlessly stylish. You can shop all of my picks here.

Phew! That was a lot. But I hope this gave you ideas, direction, and a healthy dose of spring excitement. My goal is never to overwhelm — just to inspire. Choose a few pieces that make you happy and let that guide your wardrobe refresh this season.

Love everything except I’m not a fan of closed toe shoe. I get closterphobic in them! I already have alot of these things! A lot!
