Some people don’t care what they look like when they are on vacation. As long as they’re comfortable, who cares. After all, they’re going where nobody knows them.
I am not one of those people. And if you’re reading this, chances are, neither are you. I view vacation as an opportunity to step away from my everyday life and my regular routine, and to immerse myself in another setting or another culture. And that means dressing for my destination.
I want to look my BEST on vacation, and I don’t want to compromise on style. (Oh, to be alive in the days of glamorous transatlantic flights and voyages, when going away meant packing your entire closet in leather trunks).
These days, we are compressed like sardines onto planes, and an entire fantasy vacation wardrobe is expected to fit into a carryon. It’s unreasonable.
