My daughter is reviewing Algebra formulas to prepare for her ACT, and I put my husband Kevin on math duty. Those types of formulas are not my strength.
Outfit formulas, on the other hand, are my happy place.
First of all, they’re way more practical than Algebra. 😉 And they’re a lot more fun.
These formulas were inspired by our recent trip to Europe, and you’ll see a lot of that inspiration here. My encouragement, as with all of these outfit formula videos, is to take a step back and look at the formulas and not the details of the specific outfits.
You can find a version of the items in these outfits that suit your style, age, and body.
That’s why I’m obsessed with them. They transcend age and trends and are truly universal and age-defying. Just make them your own.
Here, 6 age-defying outfit formulas to try with pieces from your own wardrobe!

Striped Tee + Trench + Jeans + Sneakers+Crossbody
Take your trench out of the “coat” box and turn it into the chic-est completer piece ever. It looks especially modern and cool topping a classic mariniere tee and medium-to-wide leg jeans. I added sneakers for a casual look but flats would be beautiful as well.

Sundress + Straw Hat + Sunglasses + Leather Bag + Ballet Flats
Any midi dress will work in this outfit formula. I get lots of questions on how to style a dress in hot weather when a jacket is out of the question, and the hat-and-sunnies combo does the trick every time. I kept this classic yet modern with an updated pair of ballet flats and a sleek leather bag.

Cream Sweater + Camel Pants + Brown Bag + Nude Ballet Flats
I channeled cooler days with this look, but you could substitute a tee or blouse for the sweater. The key here is to choose different shades of the same light neutral (gray, blush, etc.) for an elegant tonal look.

Striped Button-Down + Cropped Flare Pant + Fisherman Sandal + Straw Tote + Scarf
I saw this look everywhere in Europe, a billowy button-down over cropped pants, often with a slight flare. Add chic seasonally-appropriate accessories to complete the look.

Shorter Dress + Low Heel Sandals + Sunglasses + Leather Crossbody
I saw this formula on women from 40 to 80, in every variation possible, and it always looked chic! Just style a simple flowy dress in your short length with a pair of low-heeled sandals and a cool bag. Couldn’t be easier!

Wide Leg Linen Pants + Crop Tee + Blazer + Clogs + Leather Bag
I talked about linen wide-legs a lot in my European style videos, and now I’m taking the look into fall by picking a black pair. Paired with a tee and a blazer (you could use any jacket) this is a great transitional outfit that will take you into fall. Clogs work for every season and are definitely having a moment.

Which of these outfit formulas is your favorite? And how would you make it your own? Let me know in the comments!

Ageless style
Thank you for the video about custom made clothing. I am studying the details of the websites and am thinking of perhaps ordering from a couple of them. Thank you also for sending me the wardrobe guide.

I will try the sweater and trousers etc as It is more practical for the season here in Scotland (Going into Autumn). It’s not my usual but I am open to suggestions from someone as knowledgeable and sincere as yourself.
