Between the glass skin trend and the proliferation of products and tutorials that promise dewy skin, it seems like everyone is obsessed with recapturing the youthful glow these days. Even people who are still youthful. And while makeup and light-deflecting products can help create the illusion of healthy skin, the real goal is to actually have that glow, with minimal makeup.
In today’s video, I talk to Dr. Abigail Adams, owner of the MedSpa of New Smyrna Beach, about how to achieve vibrant skin over 40. In today’s video, we’re going to tackle the topic in 3 ways:
- Skincare routines and products for vibrant skin
- Pre-party treatments for an immediate glow
- Long-term treatment plans for glowy, youthful skin
What are celebs REALLY doing to get that glow? How much should you be spending on skin maintenance every year? Are you a good candidate for these treatments? We tackle these questions and reveal what’s really working to achieve vibrant skin right now, in today’s video.
Skincare Routines for Different Budgets
Dr. Adams believes in the efficacy of brands that focus on research and sell through doctors offices, like SkinMedica, Obagi, etc. Her must-have product that she recommends investing in regardless of budget is the SkinMedica TNS Advanced Serum. This is the one with growth factors that is a proprietary technology for SkinMedica. Used as suggested, a bottle should last 2 months, making it $150 a month.

Treatments for Glow
Chemical peels are Dr. Adams go-to for bright, vibrant skin. She recommends a Diamond Glow Facial + Illumize Peel for a pre-party fix with very little peeling and downtime. The gold standard for a red carpet ready glow.

Remove the Unwanted
Lasers can remove hyperpigmentation, and Botox can eliminate wrinkles, so removing some of the things you don’t love on your skin can be the quickest way to love the way you look again.
The Party Fix
A month before your event, get fillers to plump up your skin, then follow up with Botox 2 weeks before the event and the Diamond Glow Facial + Illuminize Peel 2 days before the event.
For Sagging Skin
RF Microneedling is a very effective treatment for laxity and sagging skin, and can boost collagen. It takes time to see results, with firmness showing up at 4-6 weeks post-procedure, and a series of 3 is recommended. Following up with a CO2 Ablative Laser can boost the results.
