One of the things that has struck me the most about getting older is how quickly stress shows up on my face. When I was younger, stress may mean an occasional breakout, but for the most part, I still looked rested and refreshed, even when I wasn’t. Now, when I’m stressed, the whole world knows it. And, since that’s pretty much all the time, I needed to find a way to look fresh and relaxed, even when I wasn’t. Enter makeup, and especially Merit.
Something about an even complexion and a radiant glow, both of which are achievable in seconds with a couple of good-for-you makeup products, makes everything seem manageable and brings my stress level down. It feels like I’m at least in control of one area of my life. Can anyone else relate?
Here, my simple, under-5-minute makeup routine for eliminating the signs of stress on my face with Merit Beauty!
Apply Great Skin
I apply it to clean skin, but for a glass skin effect, try it over your moisturizer. Use 1 pump for oily skin, 2 for combination, 3 for dry skin. It absorbs instantly and leaves your skin fresh and glowy, but not at all greasy. It also creates the ideal base for makeup.
Create a Great Base
Next, I use the Minimalist, a foundation/concealer stick in the shade Khaki, on areas where I need coverage. Discoloration is one of the things that detracts from our glow and causes us to look older. I use the Brush No. 1 to blend. Next, I use the Bronzing Balm in Seine on my cheekbones, across my forehead, and on my chin. Then, I use the Highlighting Balm in Cava around my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, and on my temples. Then, I add color to my cheekbones with the Flush Balm. Today, I used Raspberry Beret.

Complete the Look
I finish my face with a swipe of Brown 1980 in Brown, Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara, and Signature Lipstick in the most perfect fall shade, Tiger.

It takes more time to talk about this quick and flowy anti-aging makeup routine than it does to do it. Less than five minutes and I’m out the door! I love the fresh, subtle, and elegant look these products give me. Check out this before and after!
