Walmart isn’t always the first place that comes to find when we think about shopping for fall trends, but the retailer has made a huge effort in recent years to improve its reputation for fashion. You’ll find more than adult onesies and nondescript tunics these days, and I think that’s a win for anyone who wants to update their wardrobe affordably. Sadly, most of the best items are only available online, unless you are lucky enough to live near a big, fancy Walmart (is that a thing? I think it is!).
I have 3 tips for shopping successfully at Walmart that will help you shop more successfully:
- Shop Online: You’ll have the best selection and a much more enjoyable and less stressful shopping experience. Plus, you can buy online and return in the store, which is the best of both worlds.
- Know Your Brands: Each brand is known for something at Walmart, from the boho-inspired Free Assembly to the trendy Scoop to denim at Sofia Vergara and classics (and some questionable items) at Time & Tru.
- Be Flexible About Sizing: Some brands are going to run true to size (Scoop) while others, like Time & Tru, are cut more generously.
Today I try on several trends, from Barbie Core pink to plaid, cozy knits to platform shoes, and discovered some new favorite pieces in the process. In today’s video, I show you my fall try on haul for women over 40, and everything is under $50. (And you’ll find them all in this catalog.)
