As I write this, the temperature here in Florida has plummeted to the 80s from the 90s, a sure sign of fall. 🙂 Seriously, though, even with temps still scorching here, I am ready for fall fashion. This is the season when allll the fun happens, and it’s definitely the most stylish season.
When I was a magazine editor, we lived for fall fashion week. The glamour, the layers, the boots… it’s fantasy fashion for sure! Who needs a bathing suit when you can have a coat in cozy cashmere?
Which season is your favorite for fashion?
Whether you’re a fall lover or not, I hope this season’s trends will inspire you to embrace fall fashion this year and let your inner fashionista out to play. This fall is all about getting dressed up, and I couldn’t be more ready!
As always, you can find all of the items in this catalog.
Here, the biggest and best fall fashion trends of the season.
Preppy Chic
While preppy is never truly out of style, the preppy aesthetic is trending this season, which makes it a great opportunity to stock up on stylish, practical pieces for your fall wardrobe. Stripes, checks, collared sweaters, cozy cardigans, and the always-appropriate penny loafer all make a big comeback this season, giving us plenty of options for injecting some preppy style into our everyday outfits.

Classic Business
It’s time to return to dressing up for work, and wearing traditional often menswear-inspired fabrics and classic business motifs and silhouettes is one way to do so. Look for every configuration of blazer, as well as luxurious wools, tweeds, and plaids in both fitted and oversized silhouettes. From the classic trouser, which has suddenly become a trend piece, to silk blouses and office-appropriate dresses, there is something for nearly every workplace this season.

Barbie Core
You don’t have to be a blonde to want to channel your inner Barbie this year, and for those of us, like me, who love hot pink, this season offers plenty of opportunities to wear this color. From subtle sprinklings of hot pink on accessories to a full-on head-to-toe take on the iconic fashion doll, Barbie pink is everywhere. In addition to the color, we’re seeing Barbie-esque silhouettes, shoes, and accessories.
ALways the trendsetter, I sported a Barbie look for a recent costume event at church. I was Malibu Barbie, of course, because of the tan.

Vibrant Color
Pink isn’t your only option this year! Simply pick your favorite color, and turn up the volume on it this season. From goldenrod to cerulean to periwinkle, there’s a pretty shade for everybody. You’ll find brightly patterned outfits, colorblocked styles, and simple but still standout styles in one head to toe shade.

Western Wear
Western-inspired motifs, from cowboy boots to equestrian jackets to hats to denim, are everywhere this season, and can appeal to even the most citified among us. (That’s me!) Look for a cool simple pair of cowboy boots in a neutral color or a Western-inspired denim shirt if you’re intrigued by this trend.

Sparkle & Shine
Sparkles, sequins, glitter, and crystals are everywhere this season, covering everything from accessories to head-to-toe looks. It’s like the disco ball is back, and everyone is dying to dress up again. Look for fancy sandals and pumps for big evenings out, glamorous sequined dresses in every style and length, glittering bags, and bedazzled blazers.
Whether you choose to go all in or indulge in just a sprinkling of sparkle, this trend will definitely bring the glamour back to fashion this season.

Feminine Feminine Feminine
Soft, feminine styles, fabrics, and details continue as a major theme this season, as designers continue their love affair with fanciful frills and the whole cottagecore aesthetic. Look for feminine colors, fabrics (silk, lace, fine pleats) and details, from sweet collars and puffed sleeves to full skirts and florals.
You can try this (or any) trend in small doses or head to toe, depending on your personal style.

Minimalism to Maximalism
When I said there was something for everyone this season, I wasn’t kidding. From some of the over the top trends that we’ve already discussed (feminine, Barbie corp, and sparkle) we have the all-in, dressy, luxurious and often ornate maximalist aesthetic. At the other end, there is a spare, simple, and neutral minimalist style inspired by the nod to the 90s. Wherever you fall, you’ll find no shortage of options.

Sleek vs Soft
Another pair of opposing trends, sleek vs soft is the best way I can think of to describe this season’s obsession with textured fabrics. From stretch leather, shiny lame, and sparkly sequins, we have a sleek, modern, and almost futuristic feeling, while feathers, cashmere, and wool give a softer, more playful vibe.
Choose one extreme or the other, or mix them up to create your own take on the trend.
