I’m not going to lie. I almost didn’t make this video. And it’s not because I’m a snob. After all, I have always believed that you can find great style almost anywhere, if you have a good eye and you are selective. Over the years, I have found some of my favorite pieces from Target, Old Navy, H&M, and thrift stores. But Walmart was different.
I think my resistance came from the actual Walmart experience. You know what I’m talking about. It’s loud and crowded and not exactly a fun shopping outing. I also found that my attempts to find cute items in my local Walmart were always fruitless. My store never carried the cute stuff, and I would sift through racks of tank tops and workout shorts and find absolutely nothing.
But finally, after seeing some of my favorite people on IG share outfit pics and images like this, I decided to take another look.
This time, however, I went back to my earlier strategy of shopping online. I found pages and pages of trendy and affordable finds that are perfect for summer (and grabbed a few wintery items on clearance for my Scotland trip as well).
My overall impression? By sticking to Walmart’s contemporary brands (Free Assembly, Scoop, C. Wonder, Sofia) you’ll find updated pieces at great prices with surprisingly nice quality. Ordering online and returning to your local store makes the process even easier and less of a hassle.
Here, my latest Walmart haul, and my thoughts! (I kept all of these items!) And while some of these items are no longer available, you can see all of the details and shop similar items in this catalog.
Which of these items do you like? And what experience have you had (positive or negative) shopping for clothing on WalMart? Let me know in the comments!
