I recently ran into a friend at a party who said she had given up on wearing dresses. “I have no waist,” she moaned. “I look like a cardboard box with legs.”
Looking at my gorgeous friend, who is in her late 60s, I knew that this was untrue, but I didn’t have time at that moment to get into it. The thing is, every single woman on the planet can wear a dress if she wants to. There is absolutely and most definitely a dress out there for you even if:
- You hate your legs
- You’re really short, or tall
- You have no waist
- You have big hips
- You have a short or long torso
And so on.
IF a dress is something that you’d like to try, and you haven’t worn one for a while, I’d encourage you to revisit them and try a bunch of different styles to find one that you love. For every style you try on, take a picture for later reference.
A dress is a stylish, comfortable, and feminine one-and-done option that can be the basis of so many stylish looks. Here, I styled 4 dresses for spring from Shop C.O.Z.Y. that are easy and affordable and also make me feel beautiful. Dress Outfit Formula 1: Short Printed Dress + Flat Espadrilles + Straw Bag + Neutral Statement Earrings
A short dress in a bold print calls for fun but neutral accessories. I consider a straw bag a summertime essential, but any neutral bag would do, and crochet would look especially trendy this season. If you don’t want to do espadrilles, try a flat sandal or neutral slide instead. You can find this dress right here.

Dress Outfit Formula 2: Printed Maxi Dress + Flatform Sandals + Straw Bag + Neutral Statement Earrings
A long printed dress calls for a neutral shoe that’s substantial enough to hold up to the flowy hem. I kept the rest of the accessories neutral because the belt already gave the dress that pop of color. You can find this dress right here.

Dress Outfit Formula 3: Short Printed Dress + Colorful Shoes + Straw Bag + Neutral Statement Earrings
This dress is similar to the one in outfit 1, but it’s neutral, and a neutral print always makes me want to add color. I did that with these flat espadrilles, and then kept the rest of the accessories simple and neutral. You can find this dress right here.

Dress Outfit Formula 4: Simple Neutral Dress + Colorful Statement Bag + Statement Earrings + Contrasting Espadrilles
This gauzy white dress is grounded by these black espadrilles (the tie up the leg adds some interest to the outfit). I added a fun statement bag and earrings to complete the look. (Hint: They do NOT have to match!). You can find this dress right here.
