My mind is seriously blown. For years I’ve been fooled into thinking that clean living and sunscreen and skincare and a little Botox here and there were the essential tools in my battle against aging.
But I’m here to tell you that they lied to us. They LIED.
This is what nobody tells you about all of these strategies, however well-intentioned they are. They take time. Time. And what are we trying to do? Erase time from our faces. So while you’re waiting for that miracle cream to work its magic, you’re getting older. Because, time!
It is not our friend.
Fortunately, I’ve found the most brilliant solution ever. (All the cool girls are using it!).
It’s called a filter.
Hear me out. You get INSTANT results. INSTANT.
Just look at my before and after.

I know. Look how pretty I am in that second pic. I hate to brag, but, man…
If you haven’t tried a filter yet, I highly recommend it. This is how I choose to see myself from now on. š
The hard truth is there is no such thing as a permanent filter, or a magic wrinkle-erasing wand. If there was, I’d be using it. Skincare and sunscreen and sleep and occasional skin treatments are still the best ways to truly turn back the clock. And I’m going all in over the new few weeks to show you my own skin transformation journey. Here, my hair to heels guide to turning back the clock, as the kids say, IRL (in real life).

Menopause Miracle-Workers
I’m so glad that women are now comfortable talking about menopause and all of the challenges that go along with it. It’s kind of rocked my world. I have had allll the symptoms, and I just kind of dealt with them for years, until a friend encouraged me to try something to alleviate the annoyance. These products have been a game-changer for me!

Hair Care
I have been coloring my hair since 30, and plan to continue to color it indefinitely, but with dark hair and gray roots, my coloring appointments have gone from every 8 weeks to 6, and I’m on the hunt for the perfect in-between root cover.
Another hair aging concern is hair loss, and this is something I’ve seen close friends and family members struggle with. The earlier you treat hair loss, the more effective your treatment will be. Here, some hair loss treatment options that have amazing reviews and that have worked for some of the people in my life.

Skin Savers
I firmly believe that skin maintenance and care involves a two-part approach: an effective at-home skincare routine and maintenance treatments and visits to the dermatologist or medi-spa. Treatments like microneedling and Botox can keep signs of aging at bay so that more drastic measures don’t look tempting down the road. Stay tuned as I discuss the treatments I’m using to minimize signs of aging on my face and neck.
These are the products that I swear by in my day-to-day skincare routine.

Lash & Brow Rejuvenation
My lashes kind of used to be my thing, but they’ve become a lot thinner and less, well, lash-y as I’ve gotten older. Regular care and maintenance of lashes should involve carefully and gently removing all mascara and makeup every evening, and applying a lash conditioner of some sort. Some women swear by oils like castor oil every evening, but nothing has been as effective for me as Lash Boost and Brow Boost.

Body Care
I’ve talked often about how skincare shouldn’t stop at your face. I extend my skincare regimen down to my neck and chest as well as the backs of my hands. An anti-aging body serum is an essential part of a skincare routine.

Hands & Feet
Hands and feet (particularly heels and nails) are quick to show signs of aging and neglect, but fortunately there are specialized products that help you treat these areas and show quick signs of improvement.

I hope that you found some of these products and ideas helpful and that I encouraged you to formulate your own plan for self-care and anti-aging. š
