We are two weeks out from Christmas, and I have to admit I’m drowning. Between a December birthday (Eva turns 14 on the 12th), wrapping up a semester, and all the usual shenanigans in a house with two teen girls, I’m not feeling at the top of my game.
That’s one of the reasons I so enjoyed putting on glamorous clothes and changing my mindset (and maybe yours) with some fun and festivity this season. Sometimes, we need something special to snap us out of our funk. Usually, prayers, friends, and family do the trick, but this week, I needed a little retail therapy.
I hope you enjoy this fantasy-filled video full of satin and feathers and glamour. May it inspire you to put your best and shiniest self out there this holiday season. Of course, everything featured in this video can be found right here in my Holiday Style Catalog.
Casual Christmas Party
One festive piece combined with your favorite staples is a great formula for a casual holiday get-together. This Antonio Melani tiered tartan skirt is Christmas in a single piece, so I kept it simple with a white tee, but I honestly would probably prefer the look of a button-down, silky cami, or tank with this skirt instead.
Outfit Formula: Staple + Festive Piece + Glam Accessories

Christmas Service
A church service or other religious event requires an outfit that is modest yet festive, and perhaps a little bit traditional. This dress from Antonio Melani, in a gorgeous green velvet, is comfortable, versatile, and timeless.
Outfit Formula: Classic Dress + Festive Accessories

New Year’s Eve
Whether you’re going out or staying in, New Year’s Eve offers the opportunity to pull out all the stops when it comes to glamour, and this fun outfit does the trick. You can pull off the same look with a festive top and comfortable pants. A pop of color completes the look.
Outfit Formula: Statement Top + Easy Pants + Colorful Accessory

Office Party
A holiday work event calls for office-friendly staples reinvented in holiday fabrics. I adore this black satin pantsuit from Antonio Melani, but you can achieve the same look by pairing your favorite pantsuit with glam accessories.
Outfit Formula: Neutral Suit + Silky Top + Glam Accessories

Cocktail Party
Cocktails call for color, especially at the holidays, but that color doesn’t necessarily need to be red or green. I adore the vibrant hue of this pink belted blazer dress from Skies Are Blue. A one-and-done outfit like this makes holiday style so simple. Just add shoes and earrings and you’re ready to go. The dress does all the work.
Outfit Formula: Bold Dress + Fun Accessories

Entertaining at Home
Christmas eve at home, or any cozy Christmas event where you have the opportunity to host family and friends, is an occasion worth celebrating in an outfit that is as comfortable as it is special. Ths look might be my favorite of all, and you can create your own version of it with a festive top, glamorous wrap or jacket (maybe a sparkly boucle jacket or a sequin blazer) and coated (or regular!) jeans.
Outfit Formula: Festive Top + Fun Jacket + Shiny/Velvety Pants
