“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
When the world is in turmoil, getting dressed every day and slapping on some lipstick is boldly optimistic, almost rebellious. And it can definitely help us feel like we are keeping it together.
Today’s video is short and sweet, and really just a glimpse into a week in my life through my outfits. It was a fairly typical week, which around here means crazy busy, and my wardrobe needed to keep up. I’m hoping that, even though my outfits are specific to a Florida fall, you’ll find inspiration here to wear more of your own wardrobe.
That has been my challenge to the women in my Ageless Style Program:
Wear. Your. Clothes.
Sounds simple, right? Unfortunately, many of us don’t do it. We wear the same old stuff on repeat while 80% of our wardrobe hands there, unworn. Especially in these crazy and casual times, we are wearing “real clothes” less than ever. My challenge? Let’s stop saving clothes for special occasions and wear cute clothes every single day.
Unless you’re painting a room or planting a garden, there’s no reason not to get dressed in clothes that make you feel beautiful. Hopefully, some of the ideas in today’s video will inspire you to pull together fresh outfits with the clothes you already have.
Which of these outfit formulas did you like best? And what is your favorite fall look from your own wardrobe? Let’s continue to inspire each other, no matter what is happening in the world!
Outfit Formula #1
Printed fall dress + Metallic shoes
This dress is easy and breezy, and the colors and sleeves make it perfect for a Florida fall. Dress, Band of Gypsies, and shoes (old) Tracy Reese. Click here for similar.

Outfit Formula #2
Fall floral romper or jumpsuit + Leopard shoes
I love the combination of a small pattern, like leopard, with a larger floral, especially in fall-friendly colors. Click here for similar.

Outfit Formula #3
Dark neutral basics + statement cardigan + sneakers
Elevate your everyday essentials with a great jacket, cardigan, or kimono. Sneakers and accessories complete the casual-cute outfit. Click here for similar.

Outfit Formula #4
Floral blouse/bodysuit + dark jeans + boots
I’m loving a simple floral blouse or bodysuit (again in fall-friendly colors) with flattering jeans and simple dark booties as a uniform for fall. Click here for similar.

Outfit Formula #5
Floral dress + colorful pumps
A classic pair of slightly pointy pumps (or the colorful shoes of your choice) add interest to a classically feminine floral dress. (Old Prabal Gurung dress and Nine West heels).

Outfit Formula #6
Shorter dress + tall boots
When you need a little extra coverage (this dress was short even for a short person like me) a pair of over the knee boots can cover a bit while also looking cool. These have a sparkly low heel and definitely make a statement.

Outfit Formula #7
Statement sweater + jeans + mules
The jeans-and-a-sweater uniform can get boring, but switch a basic sweater for a statement one and your outfit instantly becomes more interesting with minimal effort. Let the sweater be the star and keep the rest of the look simple.

I hope that this inspired you to wear your clothes more, and to mix them up in fresh and fun ways. Fall outfits don’t need to be complicated to be cute. Life can be hectic, but these simple formulas help me get out of the door fast!
