This is probably the basic-est of all the basics. So basic you may forget you have it and never wear it but you still own it because, well, everyone needs one, right? Right. A black tee (or a navy/charcoal/chocolate brown tee, if black isn’t your thing) is the tabula rasa of fashion. (Disclaimer: I’m also a homeschool mom and so sometimes these terms just come to me). That means, if you’re not currently engrossed in world history, a blank slate. And because it’s so versatile, it can also be a little daunting. I mean, you’re not just going to leave it on it’s own, moping about, hoping to be part of an outfit. It needs to be loved on. It needs to be style.
Fortunately, we’re going to pull that wrinkly black tee (or navy, or charcoal, or chocolate…) out of the recesses of that drawer and wear it already. With completer pieces and accessories. As the backbone to all sorts of cute outfits. You can do it, little black tee! We believe in you. (Again, homeschooling).

The Best Black Tees for Every Budget
So a black tee is fairly easy to choose, but there are a few considerations. Quality is key, because nothing is worse than a dingy black tee. Fit is also critical. The ideal black tee should be slightly slouchy without being oversized. And finally, consider your body type. A SD2 looks best in a crewneck or scoopneck, while a v-neck is best suited for a SD1 or SD3.
