People call me the Cardigan Queen.
Actually, no one has every called me that, but they should. I have so, so many. I have to. I live in Florida, where it’s freezing. Don’t believe me? Go into any restaurant or mall in the state in July, and tell me if you don’t experience actual frostbite on your arms. Frostbite. It’s a real problem. So I have about a bazillion cardigans in every color and style, and a car cardigan that I carry around with me, in case I forget one at home. t took me a while to catch on to the whole slouchy cardigan thing.
In spite of my abundance of cardigans, it took me a while to catch on to the longer, slouchy style known as the boyfriend cardigans. Instead, I always favored the snug, classic style with 3/4 sleeves—they’re so ladylike. Fortunately, I eventually caught on, and now I see boyfriend cardigans as more than a way to cover bare arms. They’re a super-versatile completer piece. Check out these outfits for proof!

Boyfriend Cardigans for Every Budget
And now that I’ve shown you all the cute ways to wear a boyfriend cardigan, it’s time to shop for one. Look for a style that’s slightly slouchy, so that it slips easily on over any outfit, and a bit chunky too. Very thin boyfriend cardigans don’t really add that much to a look, in my opinion. If it’s your first, start with a solid color that works with your wardrobe, unless your wardrobe is all solids, and then go for something wtih pattern. Here, 3 to check out.
Hope you’re keeping cozy in your boyfriend sweater as the winter storms rage on around the U.S. Happy outfitting!
