While you guys have been out there working your colorful coats and puffer vests and leather leggings, I have been home. In pajamas. With vacation coming to a close, two sniffly girls and the coldest weather of the season, I hibernated. And it has been glorious.
Tomorrow, however, I will wear clothes. And shoes. And lipstick. I’m such an overachiever. I will be sharing my own looks with you on Instagram,Ā and I’d love for you to do the same. Post an outfit and tag me on Instagram or Facebook. Let’s inspire each other!
So all this week we’ve been creating the building blocks to a great wardrobe, which is the foundation for all the cute outfits you see here. We’ve discussed Body Type + Color Code + Lifestyle, and now we are adding Personal Style to the mix. The process of naming and identifying your unique likes and dislikes helps in the shopping, editing and styling process. It helps you to stay true to your vision of how you want to look. To help with the process, I’ve created five Pinterest boards representing popular style categories: Relaxed, Preppy, Classic, Chic (i.e. trendy) and Classic. Does one of these describe your style? Click on the image to check out the corresponding Pinterest board.
Relaxed Style
Comfortable, effortless and easy.
Boho Style
Flowy, flowery, fringey.
Preppy Style
Crisp, colorful, timeless.
Chic Style
Trendy, funky, cool.
Classic Style
Understated, elegant, luxurious
Maybe, like many women, you are a combination of styles, or your style has changed over the course of your life. For example, as a lover of trends and all things fashion, I love and at different types have embodied each of the five personal styles shown here, so I chose a couple of overarching terms that summed up my personal style: Feminine & Statement-Making.
Which words best describe your sense of style? Let me know in the comments below! And now, as promised, today’s outfit formula:
Black Blazer + Black Pants.
This can be a pantsuit, or simply separates, depending on the formality of your workplace/life. Easy peasy. And I told you I’d post something work-friendly. (If your lifestyle is more relaxed, every one of these outfits would work equally well with jeans).
Black Blazer + Black Pants Outfit Ideas
Whether you wear a suit to the office or just an occasional jacket, I hope you found some outfit inspiration in these looks. For more stylish looks using essential pieces, check out my Capsule Wardrobe board on Pinterest.

Those are mine too Crystal! LOL You can be whatever you want… I have many different sides of my style personality. You can wear a black blazer casually. I wear mine all the time on a typical homeschool day, instead of a cardigan! Just a thought… I throw it on over anything and it makes the whole outfit look cuter. š

I love Boho, Chic, and Classic. Can I be all three, pretty please? : ) I like the casual a bit too, but am not into preppy style at all. I think it looks amazing on certain people, but it makes ME look like I’m wearing old lady clothes! LOL!
I DID find myself wanting a black blazer this year. Lands End had a gorgeous black velvet one… I have NOWHERE to wear one, though, so I restrained myself.
