4 Spring Shoe Trends for Every Budget

March 13, 2017 By: Nada Manleycomment

At one time, people were giving me shoe tchotchkes. (Yes, that’s how you spell that word. I looked it up!) Seriously. Little ceramic shoes and shoe place card holders and shoe coasters and shoe books and shoe soaps and even a shoe accent table.

That’s when I knew I had a problem.

Seriously, though, I don’t know a woman who doesn’t have a thing for shoes. Not one. And why not? They are fun and collectible and they totally make an outfit. Plus, they always fit (well, unless you buy them a size and a half too small because they are Stuart Weitzman and on sale and the perfect rose gold pointy heel, but that story is for a different day).

And every season brings the possibility of The One. The pair that will be your new go-to. They’re all right here. You may find several go-to’s on this list, actually, and that’s totally okay. Just go with it.

(Shoes are listed by category from least to most expensive, so you can pick a pair that suits your budget. And, as always, just click on the pics to shop.)

Your closet will thank you.

Mules and Slides

If you can only buy one style this season. make it a slide on sandal or mule. They are an instant update. The most versatile pairs are soft pastels or neutrals in yummy suede, but metallics are also a safe bet, or go all in on the pom pom trend and pick a pair of fun slide that add oomph to all your neutral outfits.

Espadrilles

Okay, so espadrilles are more a classic then a trend, but this season. they are everywhere, in every configuration. Many feature another key trend—the flatform, while others turn up in trendy colors or sporty stripes.

Trendy Trainers

Sneakers. They’re not just for working out anymore. This favorite of street style stars is here to stay, and being shown with everything from denim to dresses. It turns out women enjoy being comfortable and cool. Who knew? A sleek style in all white or all black is the most versatile, but once that box is checked, the only limit is your imagination. And your budget.

Block Heels

Comfy heels? Yes. Lower, block-style heels are everywhere right now, and they are seriously suitable for walking. And just in case the pairs shown here don’t send a strong enough message, it’s all about the ankle strap. If you’re worried about the ankle strap making your legs appear shorter, stick to a thinner, neutral strap.

The best part about these spring shoe trends besides the fact that they’re, well, shoes, is that these are real-life shoes, not fantasy-magazine shoes. (Don’t feel bad, fantasy shoes. We love you too). These are shoes for running errands and walking the dog and going to church and, in a few cases, even for wearing to work. Which shoe trend is your favorite?
