I adore fashion, but beauty was really my first love, and I was a beauty editor for years before I switched to writing about fashion. My obsession has resulted in an almost encyclopedic knowledge of beauty products and the ability to recite obscure old beauty ad slogans on demand. I’m not telling you this to impress you (wink), but to show you how passionately and seriously committed I am to lipsticks and creams and powders and such.
I have a problem. A real problem. But nothing the million-or-so new beauty products on this list won’t fix. Here, my picks for the best beauty gifts of 2015.
Scentbird
What a great concept! For $14.95 a month, you get a 30-day-supply of a luxury fragrance, customized to your preferences, so that you can try before you buy. Scentbird.com
LORAC Limited Edition Alter Ego Lip Collection
LORAC’s famous Alter Ego lipsticks and glosses come in a limited edition gift box, with 7 brand new shades, for $75 ($330 value), starting on Cyber Monday. Exclusively on LoracCosmetics.com
The Original Makeup Eraser
This luxurious cloth quickly removes all your makeup (even waterproof mascara!), and gently exfoliates too. Plus, it’s good for up 1,000 washes. $20, Nordstrom
Tom Ford Private Blend Collection Mini Set
There are just no words, you guys, for this kind of luxury. This amazing gift set features 6 Tom Ford scents to mix and match, Sigh. $345, Nordstrom
The Jojoba Company Jojoba + Rosehip Oil
Part of this product’s appeal for me is in the packaging, which is glam and girly and also matches my bathroom, but there’s more. Jojoba helps rosehip oil penetrate better, and the result is a hydrating oil packed with vitamins and antioxidants that is good for all skin types. $24.95, TheJojobaCompany.com
Dior Nude Palette
I am not one of those women who buys palettes to pare down to the basics. I buy them because I love them, and then I pack 17 or so for a weekend getaway. This one is so elegant, and the shades are so wearable, so that if you were the minimalist type, it might be all you need. $62, Nordstrom
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Killer Cheekbones
I don’t know for a fact that this lovely blush duo, priced at a steep $110, will give me killer cheekbones, but I am so tempted by the gorgeous packaging, luxurious brush, it’s British-ness, and, of course, the promise of the name. $110, Nordstrom
Living Proof Happy Hair Days Kit
As a victim of curly hair’s unpredictable moods, the promise of a Perfect Hair Day is a tempting one, indeed. This travel kit features the brand’s famous Shampoo/Conditioner, a new dry shampoo, a styling treatment, and Night Cap Overnight Perfector, which promises a week’s worth of great hair after a single overnight treatment. Totally going to try this! $32, Ulta and Sephora
Repechage Vita Cura Nutri Oil
Among other things, I’m a little obsessed with body oils. I have a whole line-up next to my bed, and this might need to join them. The Vita Cura oil from spa favorite Repechage is light, absorbs quickly, and provides antioxidant protection. $45, Repechage.com
YSL Kiss & Love Collection
So French and so chic, this set features a trio of lipsticks and matching nail lacquers in gorgeous shades. $85, Nordstrom
Tory Burch Rollerball
Who doesn’t need a little Tory Burch rollerball in a Christmas cracker in her stocking? I seriously can’t name a single person. It even comes wiht a sweet little note from Tory. 😉 Love. ToryBurch.com
Tory Burch Marrakech Eye Palette
I know. Two Tory Burch gifts in a row seems kind of lazy of me, but who can resist this packaging??? I’m sure the shadows are lovely, too. $60, ToryBurch.com
OPI “Infraredy to Glow” nail lacquer
Sure you can wear sparkly polish. It’s Christmas! I love the whole OPI “Starlight” collection, but this festive, flecked shade is my fave. $9.50, Ulta
Iluminage Sleeping Beauty Deluxe Set
I love the idea of improving my skin while I sleep, and I know my side-sleeping isn’t doing my skin any favors, so I’ve added this set to my wish list. A pair of luxurious skin rejuvenating pillowcases and an eye mask to help you get that beauty sleep. $99, Sephora
Rodan + Fields Acute Care
So simple yet so effective, these little strips really banish expression lines on the forehead, near the eyes, and more! $22o, RodanandFields.com
