There is something about fall that makes me want to throw out my entire wardrobe and just start over. I immerse myself in the magazines and the replays of runway shoes, because, well, it’s my job, and I find myself wanting ALL the things. The cozy knits and leather and fringe. The boots and coats and faux fur trim. The abundance of plaid. The boots. Did I say boots already? I really love boots.
And I live in Florida.
So after I go on several fantasy fall shopping trips in my mind where I spend a bazillion dollars, I rein myself in. A little. And I zero in on the real game changers for the season. The items I would recommend for a client with a lot of time and a limited budget. None of these items is over $100, and most are considerably less, but they are all beautiful, versatile and wearable versions of the top trends of the season. And they all fit seamlessly in with the favorites already hanging in your closet. So here, in no particular order, are 10 fall essentials under $100.

Sleek Booties
You may already have a pair of booties, but this season’s crop are sleek and streamlined and work just as well with dresses as they do with denim. This pair is on sale, so the price is very affordable, and the subtle lug sole is right on trend.
2. A Long Cardigan
The season’s essential layering piece is cozy and chic and works over everything from your everyday jeans-and-tee to a dress on date night.
3. Plaid Pants
These comfy knit pants combine two top trends, a fun printed pant and plaid. Plus, the colors are neutral enough to pair with everything.
4. Leather Skirt
Leather has been cropping up in unexpectedly elegant places lately, as in this preppy pleated skirt that works for the office, date night, or a girls’ lunch.
5. Fall Maxi Dress
An easy pretty maxi dress in fall colors is a great versatile choice that can go from weekend casual to date night with a change of accessories.
6. An Updated Animal Print
New and novel animal prints are turning up everywhere, and this sleek silky blouse is a subtle take on the trend. While it’s a little bit of an investment, even on sale, it’s timeless and very versatile.
7. Moto Jacket
This essential topper adds edge and fun to anything you pair it with, and it keeps you warm too!
8. A long vest
A key trend this season, and one of the easiest to pull off, these vests are a great way to dress up a simple tee and jeans, or wear it over a long sleeved dress.
9. Flare Jeans
Flares are a huge part of this season’s nod to all things 70s, and they are one of the most versatile. These are a comfy stretch pull-on style, and the sleek even wash keeps them sophisticated. (Hint: If you’re a Style Dial 2, or otherwise hip conscious, these might not be your best bet.)
10. Fringe Bag
Fun fringe is an easy trend to incorporate into your wardrobe this fall, especially in accessories like necklaces, shoes, and, of course, this fun fringed crossbody.
From cozy knits to edgy leather, pretty dresses to fun printed separates, fall fashion really does offer something for everyone. Did I miss one of your favorite trends of this season? Let me know what made your list for fall!
