Tonight, I had a chance to catch up with a dear friend, and we talked about how everything and nothing had changed since we met at 12 years old. Growing up as neighbors, we spent many hours discussing the princes we would marry (literal princes, with titles and castles) and the trips we would take. Now, in her mid-40s, she says she has given up: “It’s all about the kids now.”
And while her always flawless skin is still lovely, she is afraid that it’s too late to reverse the years of haphazard soap washing and sun damage.
It isn’t.
It’s never too late to make a change and start taking care of yourself. No matter where you’re at, there are steps you can take, some small and some a little more involved, to freshen your look, and your outlook. I’ll cover the bigger stuff later, when I’ll show you the results of my own recent anti-aging treatments, but first, the easy stuff. Here, 3 fast ways to look younger.
1. Update Your Manicure
Listen, I know that French manicured squovals (squared off oval shaped nails) are totally practical, but they make you look older. Especially if those squovals are acrylic. A bold manicure (and maybe even a bit of sophisticated nail art) in a catchy, current new shade is an instant update, without looking like you’re trying too hard.

2. Brighten Your Smile
When a makeup artist “ages” an actor for a role, the teeth are one of the first places they begin, because yellow teeth are so closely linked with old age. A bright smile signals youth and health and vitality, and it’s one of the easiest fixes you can make. Try one of the products shown here, or head to your dentist’s office for an age-defying whitening treatment.
3. Depuff Your Eyes
I’ve always had dark shadows under my eyes. Now, they’ve been joined by bags. Awesome. And that’s why I’m all about the eye mask these days. They’re quick easy fixes to address fine lines, dark circle and puffiness, and the results are pretty instantaneous!

With bright eyes, a white smile and a fresh shade of nail lacquer, you’ll look instantly brighter, fresher and younger! Check back all week for more anti-aging tips, including before and afters from my recent series of skin treatments!
Nora Moore says
It’s true that having bags under your eyes can make you look older. I’ve never heard of these patches that are supposed to help with that, but I’d be willing to give them a try. Anything that will help me stop looking so tired and worn out would be great. It doesn’t look too expensive either.
