In case you hadn’t noticed, my hair is curly. Very curly. When I am in L.A., or somewhere else with a humidity below 100%, I will have it blown out so that it’s very straight and long. And then I become a Completely Different Person. I become SHM (Straight Haired Me). SHM is not nearly as friendly or smiley as CHM (Curly Haired Me). She doesn’t have to be. She has straight hair. SHM has an unhealthy obsession with shop windows, mirrors, anything reflective, and has been known to toss her hair dramatically, shampoo-commercial style. She’s that fabulous. (Once, she even pulled her neck a little. True story). Interestingly, hair tossing and all, my friends seem to prefer CHM.
And yet some people still claim that looks don’t matter.
They do matter. They matter to you. When you look great, and feel comfortable in your own skin, it shows. It shows in your posture and in your confidence, in the way that you walk and the way that you treat others.
Not sure what “comfortable in your own skin” feels like? Then maybe you haven’t owned your personal style.
Make no mistake. We all have personal style, whether it’s deliberate or not. But until you name it and own it and work with it, you can’t make the most of it. And that “comfortable in your own skin” feeling is harder to attain.
And that’s why I developed the BeautyMommy Style Quiz. It gives a name to that indefinable quality called style, the universal language that is more powerful and immediate than words. So you can proudly proclaim your style to the world.
So what are you waiting for? Take it now, and then check out the five corresponding style boards below. Better yet, click on each link and it will take you a Pinterest board full of ideas for you.
