One of the things that I love about being a regular, avid shopper is that I never miss an OBO (once-in-a-lifetime Buying Opportunity). Fortunately once-in-a-lifetime opportunities happen nearly every day. (Don’t overthink it. It’s my kind of logic, and it works!) Bu in order to take advantage of them, you have to get out of the house, or the office, or the gym, and go SHOPPING. Here, a few fun Halloween and post-Halloween finds.
1. Healthy Snacks: Sure, some of these snacks are available year-round, but the tiny sizes and fun packaging make them a real Halloween treat, and if you choose wisely, they can even be healthy. My favorites: Snyders pretzel twists, in a pack of 30, Annie’s Bunny Grahams, Florida Naturals Fruit Nuggets and Pirate’s Booty. All available at Target for a limited time only. 🙂
2. Dress Up Clothes: What is the difference between the clothes in your kids dress-up bin and the costumes on clearance after Halloween? The price! Now is the time to stock up on tutus and wands and capes and superhero props. Ditto with face paint, glittery makeup, and other fun party accessories.
3. Pumpkin Parephernalia: Yes, I know it’s obvious, but it bears repeating: the best time to stock up on seasonal accessories and decor is last season. Get a head start on next year by stocking up on glittery pumpkins, gorgeous gourds, and, best of all, pumpkin! I stocked up on Farmer’s Market organic pumpkin in BPA-free cans on clearance at World Market last year and am using it in all my pumpkin recipes this year.
