Lola is outgrowing a lot of the toys in the playroom, and she never really played much with toys anyway, so I am trying to come up with creative options for her upcoming 6th birthday. Sure it’s two months away, but these things have a way of sneaking up on you. : ) Here, a couple of my ideas, so far:
1. Little Passports: I am obsessed with teaching my girls about the world, and this ingenious company makes it easy to do just that. When you subscribe to Little Passports, your child will receive mail from two kid characters, Sam and Sofia, every month, chronicling their “travels.” The package includes letters, stickers, and souvenirs in a cute, cardboard suitcase, all intended to teach your child about a specific international destination. Love!
2. Velvet Poster Set, $19.95: Lola wants to set up an art gallery in her room, and these velvet posters will help her show off her artsy side. So girly too!
3. Magazine Subscription: Kids love getting mail, and Lola has always loved receiving her High Five magazine, but she may be ready to move up to the next level. She also enjoys the National Geographic mag that Grandma and Grandpa send her every year as a gift. Other great ones include Cricket and the American Girl magazine.
4. Lessons + Supplies: Whatever she is into, a great gift would be classes to learn something she would love, and the supplies to go along with it. An instrument plus lessons, art supplies and a class at a kids art studio (check back here for a suggestions for an amazing local studio, opening soon!), etc. will help girls pursue their passions and offer a constructive pastime
