I don’t know if everyone feels this way or not, but some kids are just plain easier to shop for than others. Eva just loves toys, and plays with everything. Lola loves her friends, and plays with virtually nothing, making her a real challenge to shop for. Some of the items I have spent the most time and money shopping for, from a gorgeous wooden dollhouse to assorted European play sets to even her American Girl dolls, and she doesn’t play with them, or plays with them only when her friends are over and someone else pulls them out. Eva, on the other hand, never met a toy she doesn’t like. She adores any and all electronic gadgets, from the IPOD to the IPAD to her Leapster. She also loves baby dolls and stuffed animals and blocks and things that move and things that fly. So, this week I am doing two different lists: One for Eva, the child who just loves toys – especially girly ones – and one for Lola, who is harder to shop for. Here are the items I am considering for Eva for her December birthday and Christmas.
1. Baby Alive: This doll has such a cute face, with huge eyes and curly hair. And Eva loves dolls that interact. She’s obsessed with changing diapers and feeding babies and putting them to bed, and this doll does it all. Another one I’m considering: Little Mommy My Very Real Baby. This one is more expensive, but has some interesting features, like a juice pop that she “eats” and a bear that she loves.
