So, for those of you who haven’t read Friday’s blog, I had a keratin treatment Friday morning. It took about 2 1/2 hours and cost about $350. When I left the salon with my blowout, my hair was completely unrecognizable. It was straight, yes, but without the poof and the frizz, and it looked more like naturally straight hair than curly hair that had been flattened. And it felt so silky I couldn’t stop touching it. Even my girls liked it, especially when I pointed out to Lola that now my hair looks more like hers. Okay, I left the keratin in an extra day and washed it this morning instead of yesterday. I wanted to make sure it would take! As soon as I started shampooing today, using the special shampoo and conditioner that come with the Diora treatment, I noticed an incredible difference. The excessive volume was gone. My hair was easier to wash and so much more manageable. After the shampoo, I applied the special conditioner, and the comb literally slid through my hair. Detangling is always the longest and most painful step. It usually takes me about 5 minutes to comb conditioner through my hair and a lot of it comes out in the process. This time, combing through my hair was a breeze – 30 seconds tops! Then, not knowing what to do with this new head of hair, I just left the conditioner in there and let it air dry. Normally, I would comb my conditioner through, add some more heavy-duty thick condietioner and then maybe a little gel. I didn’t even use a lot of conditioner, just the amount I needed to detangle. And because there wasn’t a lot of product, my hair dried much more quickly. Now I have loose, soft waves and I love it. My hair is completely unrecognizable! From the silky soft texture to the waves I’ve always wanted, the difference is truly remarkable! I am going to play with it and see how best to style it and all the different fun things I can do with this new hair, but I am already thrilled. Here’s how my hair looks tonight, washed and dried. Compare it to my before picture on Friday’s blog! Amazing!
This is the best thing I have ever done to my hair and I don’t think I will ever be without it again.
