I am starting to think there is no foolproof way to apply sunscreen to little ones. Even though I consider myself obsessed with the application and reapplication, Lola’s cheeks and shoulders got ever-so-slightly pink after a couple of days of swimming. I was mortified. She also has two tiny freckles on her face that she wasn’t born with, a sign of sun damage. I am constantly trying to find a way to successfully apply sunscreen to squirmy kids. Here, a few new products that are making it a bit easier!
1. Colorescience Sunforgettable Mineral Powder Sun Protection SPF30 Brush: At $50, this product is a bit pricey, but it’s unbeatable. A little of this powder goes a long way, and provides non-goopy, easy-to-apply sun protection. The color is just enough to show where you applied it, and it’s waterproof, spillproof, goofproof. Love it!
2. Walgreens Kids SPF55+ Sunscreen Roller, $5.99: Just like those old fashioned roll-on deodorants, this sunscreen (the only brand I’ve been able to find with this applicator) rolls on sun protection on little faces, ears, lips, necks, etc. Love it.
3. Ocean Potion Suncare Dab-On Sport Stick SPF50, $4.99: This easy to use stick dabs on a matte, quick-drying sunscreen formula on the littlest of faces.
