How to Throw a Kid’s Birthday Party, Part VI

February 21, 2011 By: Nada Manleycomment

Let’s face it – most party decorations are going to be appreciated more by adults than by kids. With one exception. Every child lights up when they see a beautifully decorated cupcake or some other sweet treat. So while your child’s birthday party doesn’t need to mean bringing in candy by the bucketful, you should consider indulging your kids with a few, well-selected treats. Too late to call the local bakery? With some of these adorable decorations, you can make fancy-schmancy cupcakes and other treats at home, even if you’re not a skilled baker!

Yumbots, $18/4: These adorable robots let you bake-up sweet, colorful treats with guaranteed boy appeal! And little girls will love the teacup molds!

Sweet Stands, $10.95/6 and Candles, $13/4: Give your cupcakes the respect they deserve with the sweet little stands. And these pretty candleholders turn any cupcake into a birthday cake!

Pink Candelabra, $6: I am a little obsessed with this adorable wax candleabra. My only regret? I discovered it after Eva’s birthday. It’s perfect for a little princess’ third birthday!

Dinosaur Cupcake Kit, $11.95: It’s no secret I love Meri Meri, and they make the cutest cupcake papers and toppers ever! These dinosaur-themed decorations are sure to light up any boy’s birthday party!

Fondant Cupcake Toppers, $14.95: Make an ordinary cupcake look like it came from the fanciest bakery in town with these ingenious custom fondant toppers, available on Etsy. This lion is so cute!

Printable Party Circles, $9: Your little cowgirl will love these inventive cupcake toppers and party decorations, and they come in a wide variety of designs for any party theme.
