After months of agonizing and deliberation, we finally, spontaneously bought a bed for our Eva, and it’s a cheap (sorry Kari – it’s an inexpensive) one! I can’t believe that I went for it, but I did, and I am so glad. As you know, the bed I was considering, for months and months, is the Palace Canopy Bed from Corsican Furniture that is available on a favorite site of mine, RosenberryRooms.com. Here is that beautiful bed, again:
But we are still on the fence about whether or not the girls will end up sharing a room, and if so, that would change everything. Kevin was also concerned that a panel bed, like this one, would block the room off too much and not allow us to see the beautiful armoire at the end of the room, which we love. He wanted a bed with a more open look. So while sifting through the favorites I had saved, we came across a very pretty, very inexpensive bed that I had looked at several times, but as I have never seen a bed that inexpensive, I hesitated. Also, it’s got a silver finish, when the room really lends itself more to warmer, golden colors. But, after a little discussion, we decided to go for it. My husband is going to spray paint it, and it will make a lovely, temporary bed for Eva. When we decide whether she is going to stay in her own room, or whether we are going to redo both rooms and put them in together, in a year or so, we can upgrade her bed, and this time maybe I can convince my husband to spring for my real dream bed (yes, the $9000 one). So here is the bed we bought.
It’s not perfect, but I think it’s very pretty, has the canopy style I want, and is a great temporary solution for our bed problem. Plus, she’ll have it a few days. Woo-hoo! Now I can start obsessing about bedding!
