This was a much crazier than usual day, with pick-ups or drop-offs all day at what seemed like ten second intervals. It was crazy. And it was nice to come home, put the girls to bed, and finally sit down with a cup of tea. And then more mayhem started. After a few, relatively uneventful nights of the girls sleeping in the same room, they simply refused to go to sleep. Eva kept crawling up to Lola’s room, and Lola kept coming downstairs to complain about it. This is after Lola has spent the last couple of nights complaining about her sweet little intruder. After Eva simply refused to stay in her bed and stop talking to her sister, just as spontaneously as we had moved them together, we separated them. Eva is now back in her own room. I admit I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I guess it finally did. And I don’t think I’ve been sleeping all that well, because every time one of them made a noise, I would bolt out of bed and rush in, fearful she would wake her sister. It made me restless. Now it feels like all is right with the world again, for now. I still ADORE the idea of sisters sharing a room, but I think that, in our case anyway, it is too soon. I hope that in a couple of years they will ask again, and we can try again, when the girls are older and calmer. But for now, it looks like we will be needing a big bed for Eva, after all, and soon! Stay tuned!
