The Best Ideas for a Kid’s Tree

December 15, 2010 By: Nada Manleycomment

I love creating special little trees for my girls’ rooms! Right now, Lola’s room features a fun silver ornament tree decked out with colorful sparkly ornaments I’ve been collecting for them, including some sentimental ones and their Mackenzie-Childs ornaments. Eva’s room has the Krinkles tree with the mini Krinkles ornaments. Next year, though, I may get a third tree for their landing (I am fully aware that this sounds nuts) just so I can use some of these ideas, most of which are kid-friendly and shatterproof! Hope you find something here that you love!

Home Decorators Christmas Craft Ornaments, $6 and up: Pretty pastel shades of blue, pink and green in shatterproof balls or felt shapes.

Felt Ornaments: Love the crafty, cool feel of these ornaments, and they’re safe! My favorites are available from Garnet Hill ($28/set of 5). I also love these Felt Circus ornaments, $30/set of 3.

You Name It Ornaments, $12.95: Personalized ornaments with fun graphics make a tree more personal!

Silver Glitter Tree, $59: Small and sparkly, this tree is just the right size to start your kids’ ornament collection.

Pink Prelit Tree, $139: A pink tree with pink lights. What could be more girly and festive for the little princess in your life! Or make an even bolder statement with these Brite Trees, in 4′ or 6′ tall. You can choose from Ruby Red or Lime Lite.

Yummy Ornaments, $19-25: These tempting ornaments look good enough to eat, but the best part is that the proceeds benefit The Learning Community.

Silver Sparkle Beaded Tree, $178, and Ornaments: This stunning sparkler can be decked out with elegant gold, magenta and purple birds, each handmade and unique, and vintage mercury glass houses. Dazzling!

Angel Tree Topper, $150: A truly special way to top a little girl’s tree, this Madame Alexander angel doll will be passed down for generations.

Needlework Ornaments, $45/set of 8: Handcrafted charm for a child’s tree, these ornaments feature popular holiday motifs. Add even more folksy appeal with this Little Bird Garland.

Vintage Sci-Fi Ornaments, $30-40/set: Retro robots and ray guns are sure to add kid appeal to any little boy’s tree.
