Okay, I know that teens, particularly teen girls, have very strong ideas of their own, and are all too happy to share them. But what do you get the teen who has everything? Or who will have everything, by the time her parents are through shopping for her? Now there’s nothing wrong with getting her a gift card to a favorite store. Aeropostale, Hollister, and Abercrombie are all popular picks! I do that for my teen and tween friends all the time! Concert or event tickets are also a great idea, and cash is always appreciated. But if you want to get something really special, for the favorite niece, or dear friend’s daughter, or special babysitter, here are a few ideas that just might make the pickiest teen happy.
Twilight Messenger Bag, $34.99: Most teen girls are huge fans of the Twilight series, and have lots of the obvious, Twilight-themed gifts (movies, books, etc.) You could get one of those lifesized cardboard cutouts of her favorite character, but her mother might never speak to you again. A safer bet? A stylish, functional bag, like this messenger style, $34.99, to haul all her gear!
Pottery Barn Twister Game, $59: A stylish spin on an old favorite party game, this gift will entertain her and her entourage at slumber parties and holiday get-togethers. You could get anything from this genius catalog and not go wrong. I also love the pink polka dot mini fridge, the rotating jewelry armoire, and beauty station, the zebra print blow dryer, the roll and go keyboard, the grand cordless phone… Etc!
Ella Moss “Majesty” Cotton Sweatshirt, $98: This gorgeous sweatshirt is part lounge, part glam, and completely cool. She’ll want to wear this all winter!
Fab Shoes: If you know her style, Nordstrom has a famed selection of footwear to suit any taste, and almost any budget. An edgy, laid-back girl would appreciate Tom’s classic glittery slip-ons, $53.95, while the romantic girl on your list will love everything from Poetic Licence, especially these “Hello Lovely” pumps, $69.90. And the eco-conscious girl on your list will love the hip, plastic styles of Melissa.
Juicy Couture Accessories: While the velour tracksuits may be passe for anyone above 18, they are still considered the ultimate in cool teen loungewear. Even cooler? The line’s adorable, girly accessories, which are age appropriate and (usually) affordable. This season I love the polka dot pink suede collection, which features everything from wallets to cases for her digital toys. The chiffon bow scarf, $68, and the Monroe embellished fabric satchel, $248, will also please the girly girl on your list, as will almost all of the jewelry, especially the woven ribbon chain bracelet, $88.
Holga 35mm Camera, $48: The budding photographer will love this very cool, old school 35 mm, which takes amazing shots and comes in a hip selection of colors. Urban Outfitters also has some other, very affordable gifts for girls, including the Glee CD board game, $28, the Angel Glockenspiel, $32, the ruffle laundry bag, (shown) $36, and the Anna Sui Hand Mirror Lip Color Palette, $38.
Vera Bradley Frill Collection, prices vary: Teens love this popular line’s exuberant, colorful prints. I especially love the Frill collection for this age group because of its modern prints and wipe-clean practicality. The Messenger Bag, $68, Petal Wallet, $32, Make Me Up case, $28, and Lunch Bunch case, $25, are all guaranteed teen-pleasers. Round out the gift with everything from pencils and highlighters to laptop skins.

This list is so awesome! It has lots of different ideas that I haven’t seen on Pinterest/done by others yet. I can’t wait to use one to ask my girls!! I like the clothespin dolls a lot for some reason, they are so cute. The necklaces and scratch off cards too! Such great ideas!
